TECHNIQUEST@NEWI
offers over 60 hands-on exhibits complemented by a varied programme
of interactive shows, workshops and special events. The programme is
designed to stimulate and motivate pupils as well as provide informal
support for teachers in their delivery of the National Curriculum.
A dedicated team with a wide range of primary and secondary teaching
experience is at your service to answer questions, offer guidance and
ensure you get the most from your visit.

Admission prices - centre visits
Pupils £3 each with teachers and adults
admitted for free (fair usage policy applies)
Opening times
Tuesday to Friday from 9.30am to 4.30pm
Discounts available for afternoon visits - admission from only
£2 per pupil. Centre open all year. Some activities only
available during term time. See the Schools Programme guide for
details of presentations and dates.

Grants
to help with science study [All
Wales]
A new grants scheme could help your school have a TECHNIQUEST@NEWI
experience.
Grants of up to £500 are being made available to help promote
physics in schools and colleges. The money could be used to pay
for activities or resources such as a visit from the TECHNIQUEST@NEWI
outreach team, or trip to the Discovery Centre in Wrexham.
The grants are from the Science and Technology Facilities Council
and the Institute of Physics who want to encourage projects or activities
linked to physics, astronomy or space for children aged between
5 and 18.
TECHNIQUEST@NEWI offers a range of workshops, kits and shows, and
the portable planetarium, Stardome, for visiting schools AND as
Outreach to visit your school. For
