Opening times

The centre is open all year, Tuesday to Sunday. Also open Mondays during local school holidays and Bank Holiday weekends. Closed selected dates over Christmas and New Year.

Closing times may vary. Please call 01978 293450 if you intend to arrive after 3pm. Last admission is 3.30pm

Science Show and Workshop times vary according to demand and the type of show/activity. Please check on arrival. Minimum numbers may be required to run a show or workshop.

Caffi Darganfod offers hot & cold drinks and light snacks and is open from 10am weekdays and 12noon at weekends. Caffi Darganfod is operated by NEWI.

Facilities for packed lunches are available within the centre. Vending machines serving hot/cold drinks and snacks are also available.

Access for all

TECHNIQUEST@NEWI is accessible for wheelchairs and pushchair's. There are disabled and parent and baby facilities located adjacent to the main reception.

Free lockers are available - refundable deposit is required.

Admission charges

Because everyone enjoys a visit to the Discovery Centre, we offer a simple one-price admission charge for all visitors aged 4 years and over. Multi-tickets and Annual Passes are also available offering greater value for money.

Your admission ticket is valid all day allowing you to come and go as you please. We accept payment by cash, Mastercard, Visa and Switch/Maestro cards. Sorry, but we do not accept American Express cards.

Be a Giftaid visitor and make your taxes work for TECHNIQUEST@NEWI!

The Giftaid scheme allows TECHNIQUEST@NEWI, as an educational charity, to reclaim some of the income tax which you have paid if you are a UK taxpayer.

As a visitor to the centre you can Giftaid your donation to help us do more. The scheme is straightforward. The adult ticket price of £4.50 is made up of a £4 admission charge and a small donation of 50 pence.

If you agree to Giftaid your admission, the Government will allow us to claim an additional 22 pence in every pound, on the whole ticket price. In this case that means a ticket costing £4.50 is worth £5.49 to TECHNIQUEST@NEWI.
