Q:What is TECHNIQUEST@NEWI?
TECHNIQUEST@NEWI is a Science Discovery Centre with over 60 hands-on interactive exhibits that are designed to challenge visitors understanding of science in a fun and educational way.
We also have a 60 seat science theatre where we host daily science shows based around a particular theme, such as forces, water and music! Shows change throughout the year so there is always something new to see. The show is included in the cost of admission. Places are limited so during busy periods we advise you to arrive early to avoid disappointment. Click here to see details of our current show/activity.

Q:Do I have to pay to visit?
Yes, TECHNIQUEST@NEWI charges a nominal admission fee to use the exhibits and see the science shows/activities. Admission is valid for the full day of your visit and you are free to come and go as you please. Visitors are asked to display a wristband during their visit. Click here for admission price details.

Q:Where is the centre?
TECHNIQUEST@NEWI is located on the NEWI (North East Wales Institute of Higher Education) campus at Plas Coch, Wrexham. We are clearly signposted from the A483/A541 junction – please follow the yellow AA signs. Click here here for a detailed road map.

Q:When are you open?
TECHNIQUEST@NEWI is open all year, 6 days a week from TUESDAY to SUNDAY. We are also open Monday's during school holidays and Bank Holidays. Please note that we are closed for a couple of days over Christmas and New Year plus MOST MONDAYS. Click here for more information.

Q:How long do we need to spend at the centre?
Our research tells us that most visitors spend between 2.5 and 3.5 hours at the centre but everybody is different! Remember, not only do we have over 60 hands-on exhibits to keep you enthralled, but we also have daily science shows which can last up to 45 minutes – these are included as part of your visit.

Q:How can I pay for our visit?
We accept payment by cash, personal cheque (up to the value of your bankers card), Switch, Visa and MasterCard.

Q:Is there anywhere to get something to eat and drink?
Yes, we have Cafe facilities serving hot & cold drinks, fresh sandwiches, pastries, cakes and hot meals. The Cafe is open until 4pm midweek and 12noon - 4pm at weekends. Vending machines are also available.

Q:Does TECHNIQUEST@NEWI have a membership scheme?
Yes! Our Annual Membership scheme offers visitors 12 months of unlimited admission for less than the price of three individual visits. Members receive discounts in our shop and additional benefits such as invitations to member’s only events, science show previews and discounts at other local attractions. Click here for details.

Q:Can I leave my children at the centre and collect them later?
NO. Children 15 or under must be accompanied by an adult at all times during their visit. Unfortunately we cannot allow a child in to the centre unless they are with a responsible adult 18 years of age or older. This rule is strictly enforced.

Q:What time are the science shows?
Show times vary according to demand. A typical weekend schedule will include 2 shows, one at 1pm and the second at 3pm. Please check on arrival for that day's schedule. Show seats are offered on a first come, first served basis and admission to the centre is not a guarantee of seeing a science show. We always try to offer more shows during busy periods, such as school and bank holidays.

Q:I have a discount voucher, when can I use it?
This will depend on the type of voucher you have. Please check the terms and conditions and the expiry date. We regret that we cannot accept out-of-date vouchers.

Q:Can I get to the centre by public transport?
Yes! Wrexham General train station is less than 10 minutes walk away. Click here for train times. Regular bus services run along Mold Road, passing NEWI and Wrexham FC. The centre is 5 minutes from Mold Road by foot. Click here for bus information.

Q:Is there car/coach parking near by?
Yes! We have ample FREE car and coach parking adjacent to the centre entrance. Follow the signs to the car park when you arrive at the NEWI campus.

Q:Do you have an access statement??
Yes! Click here for details.

Q:How can I check for lost property?
